Friendswood 4th of July Parade 2016


The gang gathers at the usual spot for the 121st annual 4th of July parade

The Knights of Columbus start the parade each and every year

If anyone knows it is 97° outside, it is the immaculately dressed Knights!

Here come the horses, the end is near!

The last horses conclude the parade, with no parade committee cars behind

Two police cars keep traffic behind them as they slowly inch toward the park

Follow the horse to the park and look for friends, fun and good eats

Head to the gazebo where the band has just taken a break

The flags fly high above booths and bounce houses

Circle around the park to catch all the fun, start at the gazebo

Plenty of booths hawking crafts, food, drink and information

Mom & Dad grab a bowl of crawfish etouffee

Get your funnel cake and oreos at the green canopy

Booths completely circle the park with everything you can imagine

Put your house on the market while enjoying some pizza

The etouffee is really good but we are ready for some cool air

The girls are missing out on the bounce houses

The hamster ball doesn't float in water or maybe it all evaporated?

Hamster Ball and Bungy Jumps, what more could you ask for?

Bull riding of course!

The brick continues to fade, need to get some paint!

I can't believe the City Hall is 20 years old, hmmmmm

We came for the figs, we stayed for the Promise!

The Centennial Committe will never be forgotten

Over by the old Junior High, the time capsule reaches its 40th year

The 100 year time capsule was put in place during the bicentennial

To be opened in another 60 years

My classmates with better handwriting have their letters inside

How many 110 year old classmates will be present for the opening in 2076?

The Liberty Tree plans on witnessing it, just keep your car on the road

Go home and watch Chestnut eat 70 Nathan's Hot Dogs, I ate 2!

Cool off in the a/c after too many hours in the 98° heat

Head to the neighborhood pool to complete the day

The girls have been taking swim lessons all summer

We might try to go see the fireworks next year
