Dad's New Tub - April 19th, 2021
Original tub in place since the house was built in 1967
Sliding glass doors make it hard to get into the downstairs tub
Take photos for posterity before the tub's removal today
I remember washing Snuffy & Tillie in this bathtub
When you let them out, they run in circles with their ears on the carpet
Ahh, the memories . . . it is removal time now
New tub in the contractor's pickup bed
This side won't be seen again in a short time from now
The tub won't fit without taking out the door framing
Workers cut the trim boards out . . . with care
The old tub is busted out and removed in two large pieces
Both pieces await the garbage man out on the cub
They don't make 'em like this anymore
Tub area cleaned out and ready for the new tub
Door frames are removed and the new tub should just squeeze through
Need an extra inch out of the wall to get all the way through
Old plumbing piping is now removed and ready for new install
Tub moved into the family room with business side showing
Frame and backside will be beyond eyes shortly
Tub now in place and all plumbing is operational
Every inch helped with getting the tub through the door frame
Framing will be a quick install with little to no damage visible
Wood looks great seeing the light once again 54 years later
View of new tall tub through the framing free doorway
Tub access panels about to be put in place
Plenty of room to access the plumbing if need be
View of new tub before back paneling added
Take a bath while sitting down with easy access
Has a hand held shower head for above the water line cleaning
Check out the plumbing before covering with the access panel
Final view of the tub frame before installing the access panel covering
Come back a day later with tub finished and ready to go
Panels installed, caulking in place and fully operational
First door frame replaced and looking like it was never removed
Outer door frame also replaced and looking untouched
Jerry and Travis replaced the 54 year old upstairs toilet earlier
