14U Bomber's Softball - March 2023


Erin starts her 9th season of softball for the 14U LCGSA Bombers & will play twice a week this season instead of 10 games over a weekend twice a month

The Raptors are the other LC 14U team with Haley & Charlotte as pitchers

Haley was in Alex's 1st Girl Scout troop, Wednesday leads off & strikes out

Erin bats second and hits a routine groundout to shortstop

The SS makes a bad throw, pulls Charlotte off the bag & Erin is safe, E6

Erin will score the 1st run of a 4 run-ruled inning w/only 1 out made

Erin bats in the 3rd inning after Faith gets 6 strikeouts w/6 batters faced

It is a full swing bunt and she beats the slow arcing throw to 1st

The throw goes over the first baseman's glove & Erin heads to 2nd

The throw back to Haley is off target and Erin gets to third base

She is the 1st run in a second four run run-ruled inning w/2 outs made

Erin pitches the 3rd inning and faces Haley in her first at-bat

She leads off with a nice base hit to right-center field

Bombers defense does a good job and holds Haley to one base

Next batter Aria will get on from a bad throw from 3rd, so two on & no outs

Erin will leave them stranded by stiking out the next three batters

Bombers beat their sister team, the Raptors, 8-0 for the 1st win of the season

Bombers record 9 strikeouts & have 7 hits;   Raptors record 5 K's & only 1 hit

Great start to the season team due to excellent base running!

Game 2 on Monday, 3/6, vs Dickinson Illusion, Faith starts on the mound

Two walks & E6 later, Gia leads off the home 1st with Bombers down 0-2

Erin bats 2nd after Gia walks and hits a routine ground ball to 3rd

3B makes a clean catch & waits for 2B to reach second to make the throw

She throws over the 2B glove and Erin is awarded an Fielders Choice

Nice slide, the next 6 batters reach and Bombers run-rule for a 5-2 lead

Faith gives up 2 walks with 4 strikeouts to maintain a 5-3 lead in the 3rd

Erin bats in the 2nd w/1 on & 1 out after Angelina raced home on a stolen base

She hits a weak ground ball between pitcher & 1st that neither react on

Erin gets the 1st hit of the game after 7 walks and a hit batsman

First Ashlin then Faith walks and Erin scores on the pass ball

Erin pitches the 3rd with a 9-3 lead and a 5 run-rule scoring limit

She has a ROE & K before a walk & single load the bases for grand slam

Bombers win 9-8 over DK Illusion without a third home at-bat

Stronger pitching and Gia's sliding help the Bombers secure the win

Angelina's steal from 1st all the way home was equally impressive!

Erin misses G3 for 1st tennis match on 3/9, Bombers beat SF Sliders w/o her

Bombers have their 1st game in TXC on March 22nd on Field 3

Gia leads off for the visiting Bombers and grounds out into a 5-3

Erin, batting 2nd, fouls off 2 balls and works the count to full

She hits a weak line drive between 2nd and 1st base

The 2nd baseman makes the play and throws Erin out

Erin starts, strikes out 2 but walks the 2nd batter who later scores

The 4th batter hits and easy grounder back to her

She makes the play and throws out the runner to Faith at 1st

Fight takes a 1-0 lead & leaves Wednesday stranded at 3rd top of the 2nd

Erin walks in the 3rd after holding Fight to zero runs in the 2nd

Ashlin bats with bases loaded in the 3rd, w/2 outs, still down 0-1

She hits a long foul ball then strikes out on a changeup, still 0-1

Faith strikes out the next 7 batters, one reachs on a dropped 3rd strike

Bombers rally for 3 runs in the 4th and hold Fight to zero runs

Norelle gets the game winning hit, top of the 4th, with 2 RBIs

Defense was fantastic and the Bombers got key hits when it matter most!

Arrive bottom of the 2nd on March 23rd after Alex's Choir Concert

Bombers host Galveston Hericane and have a 2-0 lead after Faith's 2 innings

Erin pitches the 3rd inning and tries to match Faith's seven strikeouts

She walks the 1st batter but gets out of the inning with a double play

Erin walked and scored in the 1st & makes good contact in the 3rd

Erin gets the only hit of the game for either side lining it just past the pitcher's glove but will get stranded on third base to end the 3rd, up 2-0

Erin gives up 2 walks and gets 2 strikeouts in the 4th inning

Erin finishes with 3 K's to Faith's 7 K's who also makes the final out, 3U

Wednesday, Norelle & Angelina all reach to score 1 more & run out the time

Great defense and great baserunning give the Bombers another Win

Monday's game is during District Track Meet so Erin may miss 1 more game

Erin misses the 3/29 game versus Dickinson Fire for the District Tract Meet

Faith concludes the 100M Hurdles and arrives late to pitch (little warmup)

Bomber's lose 5-8 w/o Erin whose 4x400M Relay team avoid Weds Finals
