Friendswood Museums - October 5th, 2024


Visit the Perry Museum, open the first Saturday of the month, 10am-2pm

The three sided History of Friendswood fig sculpture is complete

All 3 graduated from the Academy & attended Friends U in Wichita, KS

The girls room was the only one with a closing door

Head down the stairs with the original wall paper display

Work on replacing original wallpaper is underway

Step outside and check out the landscaping added for dinner parties

Boy Scout Eagle Project is building a cover for the horse drawn wagon

Dinner party platform added before the garden beds

Further west down Spreading Oaks is the Friendswood School Museum

Originally built as an All Grades School in 1939

The first class room is now a conference room with photos past & present

Same room has couches, chairs & plates with the original school & Academy

Head down the hall I walked in the late 1970s as the Junior High

First room to the right has the history of Friendswood School Buildings

Westwood Elementary built in 1967 and Friendswood High School in 1970

The new Junior High, which emptied this building out, was built in 2010

Next room down the hall on the left has the history of Friendswood

The 1950 Friends Church organ and Post Office Boxes before mail delivery
