Ferry Ride to Bolivar & Back - April 2nd, 2011

Two ferries loading cars but we will wait for a third one

Walk-on passengers come aboard after all cars are parked

The ferry departs Galveston for Bolivar

All five ferries are out, but only three operate today

Pass by the USS Stewart (DE238) and USS Cavalla (SS 244) at Seawolf Park

The Robert H. Dedman passes by on the way to Galveston

We ride the "Mayor Bob" both coming and going

Finally notice Fort San Jacinto from the ferry with the ATMB on the left and Battery Croghan on the right

A 300mm lens closeup of Fort San Jacinto's Battery Croghan from the ferry

Make my first trip back to Stingeree since Hurricane Ike

The grilled seafood platter is absolutely delicious

Head back to the Bolivar Ferry landing

The line going back has only a one boat wait

We depart the Bolivar Ferry landing

Zoom in on the Point Bolivar Lighthouse
