Galveston Beach & Resort - June 23rd, 2014

Wake up morning morning to breakfast and legos

Alex plays legos with Tor

Group cousin photo over breakfast

Different angle a moment later

Alex draws Tor an image of them walking together

Girls watch the adults play another round of Hearts

David has his coffee, now just needs a brush

Take Mom & Dad to see the seaweed on the beach

Head to the beach access directly in front of Silverleaf

New walkway built since old one blocked by construction

Look over the erosion wall east from the walkway

Seaweed has been moved off the beach at this location

Big piles of seaweed at the walkway down ramp

But it is a losing battle this year, too much seaweed!

Dad walks down the beach to inspect the seaweed and judge prospects for fishing

No point bringing fishing gear here today

Now upgraded to be the the worst seaweed in 80 years

Go to the clubhouse for putters and balls for putt putt

Play two rounds, one in the heat & one in the rain

Boat still left over from Ike now part of the fairway

Hard to get it over the hump but stop before the drop

Mom shows the way with her perfect angle and velocity

The bricks make for imprecise redirection angles

Stand still Jerry, I'm using your shin on this one

Mom wins the 2nd round with a 45, David 52, Jerry 55!

Celebrate with the Chicken Fried Steak special at Nate's

Rest of the gang head back to the raked seaweed beach

Cousins dig in the sand undert the shade of the umbrella

Dig deep and find cooler sand

Tor likes to play with the growing hill of sand

Ice cream, ice cream! Gimme some ice cream!

So good on a hot day at the seaweed stinking beach!

My word, this is quite the treat

Thank you so much, mummy!

Let's take turns being buried in the sand

Savanna goes first, with just her head out of the sand

Uh Alex, please push these hermits crabs further away

Come on Savanna, smile with me for the photo

Yes, super fun, ummm, who is next? I'm ready to get out

Erin is next, woo hoo, what fun!

Yes, I see what you mean, I'm ready for the next candidate

Cheyenne is next with mommy helping to cover her up

The sand feels neat between your toes and over your body

The experience is rapidly losing its appeal

Hey Tor, you are kinda in my personal space

Alright, next! I'm ready to get out

Tor helps bury his cousin, careful with that shovel

Kristen finishes up Alex's mounted head

Alex meditates as in a resort spa treatment

That was fun, but I'm ready to arise from the sand

Cheyenne, Erin and Savanna have a footrace

Lets figure out who is the fastest between us

Savanna leaps out of her stance and takes the lead

Uncle Doug makes a oval racetrack in the sand for the girls

Cheyenne keeps up with Savanna at the start

But Savanna takes a slight lead early on

The twins keep together with Erin close behind

The girls enter turn 3 as Tor is ready to start the next race

And down the stretch they come . . .

Savanna eeks out the win despite Cheyenne's best effort

Erin follows up with a mad dash for the finish line

Her last bit of energy propels her across the line

Alex hangs out with Ahma and enjoys a snack

Aren't cheetos the absolute best?

Even coated with a thin layer of sand!

Back to the resort, showered and resting up

Will head home soon for gymnastics & cat check

Nena and Donna hit the town w/David and the girls away

Tonight's special is the seahorse surprise

Thanks, I'll stick with a strawberry daiquiri
